Taare Zameen Par(2007) - Hindi

The directorial debut of actor Aamir Khan which made me a real fan of his. It tells the story of a boy suffering from dyslexia. He was labeled as being unbearable naughty and careless and so used to be a head ache for his parents and teachers. So he is being sent to another school which is known to be very strict. There Aamir comes as his art teacher and he finds out that the boy is not naughty, but sick. He tries to convince the parents and his co-teachers that he will give the boy a break. At last he transforms the boy into a smart and bright student. The performance of Darsheel as the sick boy Ishan is really stunning. A must-watch movie.

Seven Pounds (2008)-English

Will Smith shows extra ordinary acting in this drama movie. This movie tells the story of a man who is trying to save the lives of seven people using his own life. Before selecting the people to save, he tries to confirm that they are really deserving a help. The reason why he sets out on such an unorthodox mission is revealed in the movie as a suspense. Movie starts from his phone call to emergency line saying he is committing suicide and so need an ambulance. Then the story begin to unroll. The movie is an inspirational one and also very touching.

Pink Panther (2006) -English

Oh, what to tell! The memory of watching the movie itself make me laugh out. Steve Martin, playing the role of a bungling French detective Clouseau simple catches the audience. He is being brought from a village to investigate the murder of a famous soccer coach. Actually, bringing him to this investigation is a strategy of some higher officials. Not knowing this, Clouseau jumps into investigation making fun after fun. Jean Reno, acting as assistant to Clouseau, competes with Steve to make us laugh. But, both of them succeeds,I must tell. Not a single scene of the movie would pass without your heart breaking laugh.
Not watching this movie is a real loss in life, I would say.

Amores Perros(2000)- Spanish

Amores Perros is a Spanish movie telling three different stories connected by a car accident happening in Mexico city. The car accident is shown three times in the movie, but from three perspectives. There are three different lives whose flow changes drastically after that mishap. Surely, the Director is successful in presenting the movie in a realistic and attractive manner. A peculiarity of the movie may be the role of dogs in all the three lives portrayed( As the name suggests. 'Perros' stands for Dogs). A middles class family in Mexico, a fashion model and a Hit-man; all have deep relation with dogs. The technical perfection in picturizing incidents in the most realistic way is absolutely excellent. Being a Spanish movie, it helped me understanding the Latin American life style and culture. Surely a movie worth watching.

Signs(2002)

The film directed by Manoj Night Syamalan tells the story of an alien invasion in a different and attractive way. The most striking point I observed is that the overall time an alien appears on screen is less than 2 or 3 seconds, but it conveys the stunning effect of an alien invasion.
Mel Gibson is on the lead role. The movie is centred at him and his family. The entire story of alien attack on the planet is portrayed by five or six people living in a small house. The flash back of the family is attractively told in a parallel track. That is quite something! Mr. Syamalan also has performed a short but memorable role in the movie. The performance of the two little children is excellent. Really a good Director's movie

Primal Fear (1996)

This is the story of an attorney Martin Vail, who tries to save an altar boy Aron Stampler who is convicted to have murdered his beloved bishop. Vail finds his ex-wife in the defense and uses his shrewd intelligence to get the boy out of the case. The climax of the movie was really superb.
Its worth watching.

Shawshank Redemption(1994)

One of my most favourite Morgan Freeman movies.
The movie tells the story of an innocent banker Andy( Tim Robbins) who accidentally gets imprisoned in the Shawshank state prison. There he gets a good and prudent friend Red (Freeman). Andy, with his economic talents become a pet of the jail warden and then helps other jailbirds in their education too. Gradually Andy becomes a hero in the prison. The end of the movie is simply superb.
It picturizes many facets of human life and the warmth of good friendships without losing spontaneity.
Many of the dialogues are memorable.

Back to the future Trilogy

Superb movie trilogy. I never thought such thrilling situations can arise by time-travelling.
A crazy scientist Dr. Emmet Brown, nicknamed 'Doc' invents a time machine. He and his friend Marty, a school boy, haapen to be travelling through time. Story cannot be briefed in a few words. But, one thing I can say, you cannot even think of stopping watching in the middle once you have started. It will glue you on to your seats. No portion of the movie will bore you.
A strictly must-watch movie.

Jurassic Park(1993)

Its a must-watch Spielberg movie ever released in Hollywood industry.
John Hammond, a rich Englishman re-creates the extinct Dinosaurs from fossilized dino-DNA. He creates a Jurassic park in an island. But due to some mishap in the park while its construction, government shows doubt in the stability of the island and demands recommendations from experts to endorse the park. So Hammond brings a group of scientists to see the park and approve its possibilities. Hammond's grand-children also join them. But the situations get bad when one among Hammond's staff ttries to steal dinosaur embryos from the island and he disrupts all the safety systems in the park. The expert team along with two little children are out in the park where they must face an ordeal to get back.
The movie is not a saddist one (many of the movies dealing with such monsters often are). It contains many notable situations and dialogues. The writer Michael Chrichton has tried to make the story scientifically as plausible as possible. The computer graphics is really breath-taking.
